All form fields are required. About album: Herpes simplex on the perioral area in a 10 year old boy. This disease is caused by the Herpes simplex virus (H.S.V) that has two types. I and II. It is characterized by an active phase and a latent phase. In the active phase the lesion appear as vesicular lesion on an erythematous background. then it disappears after 1-3 weeks and the lesion enters a latent phase, during which the virus hides in the autonomic ganglia of the nervous system. In case of an irritant, like a febrile disease a trauma or a viral infection, the lesions surface again. |
